Get With the 21st Century, Becky!

When I think of something I do every day, I know I can include;

  • Brushing my teeth
  • Eating
  • Googling something
So if I find myself on Google every day, why is it I am so dense in all things Google? Maybe it's because I am a Mac girl, or I could stop making excuses and admit I struggle to embrace new things. When people suggest using Google Drive, I always ignore the invitation and continue sending docs via email, dropbox, etc.  Well... here I am, hitting my head because I never took the time to accept this technology tool before.

Last semester, I had to use Google to create a survey and I found that to be pretty user-friendly, but other than for this class, I never found myself using the tool. After reading and practicing Andrew Wichmann's tutorial on Google Drive provided in the e-book, I realized that Google Drive has a lot of benefits. After just this week, I have started using it as not a way to share information, but as a repository for housing my documents. All my drafts and documents are being stored there now so no matter where I am, I can access my work. It's a cloud, which when used properly is a great benefit. My next step now is to make my Google Drive account personalized, then it will truly feel like home!! :)

What tools did you learn about this week?

  1. Rebecca,
    I agree completely! I did exactly the same thing. Never figured out the documents on Google until I read Andrew's portion of the eBook. I also plan on using this as a home away from home. I also love the eBook and am very proud of how it turned out! Great semester of learning!
